Check out the Wellness Collection from Herbaly

Wellness is all about feeling good in every part of your life, from your body to your mind and even your spirit. It's like giving yourself a big ol' hug from the inside out. Whether it's eating yummy, nourishing food, getting some fresh air, or taking time to relax and chill, wellness is just about treating yourself right and finding that balance that makes you feel like a million bucks.

It's important to include supplements to enhance your overall health and wellness. We do as much as we can to keep our mind and bodies as healthy as possible. No matter how much we consume healthy food and partake in regular exercise, we can still lack certain things. This is where herbal supplements come in to help.

We recently tried out some products from Herbaly including their Wellness Functional Tea, Wellness Iced Tea, Derma Hair, Skin & Nails Complete Plus Biotin Capsules, Organic Stevia Leaf Sweetener, and Wildcrafted Oregano Oil Capsules.

First up is the Herbaly Wellness Functional Tea. This tea is made from up to 8 carefully selected ingredients and is lightly caffeinated. It's perfect in the afternoon when you need a little pick-me-up. I love the pyramid bags which are compostable. I steep it for about 6-8  minutes since I prefer a stronger tea. It has a nice aroma and tastes light and delicious.

I brewed up some of the Herbaly Wellness Iced Tea Pitcher Size for my hubby since he is a big iced tea fan. I think the herbs and roots in the tea bag are so pretty. I did the hot water method and really love the color. I brewed the tea bag in a quart of hot water for 10 minutes, then I added another quart of cold water. All you have to do is pour it over ice. There is no need for sweetener since it already has stevia leaf. If you do need it a little sweeter, you can add some Herbaly Organic Stevia Leaf Sweetener to your taste. This sweetener has zero calories and is non-glycemic.

My husband has been wanting to try out an oregano supplement for some time now since he suffers from chronic pain. Herbaly Wellness Wildcrafted Oregano Oil Capsules is rich in antioxidants, nutrient dense and so convenient for him to take daily. We are hoping this will help ease some of his hip and knee pain. The capsules are not huge, so they are not hard to swallow. He says he does not get any aftertaste or indigestion from them.

The last item that I tried is the Herbaly Derma Hair, Skin & Nails Complete Plus Biotin Capsules. Now that I am in the 50 club, I have to do what I can to keep my skin, hair and nails healthy. I have noticed after close to two weeks that my nails have improved a whole lot. That in itself is a win for me. I am going to keep taking them daily to hopefully get all of the great benefits over time.

I am definitely looking forward to eventually trying the Herbaly Heart Turmeric Complete Plus CoQ10 Capsules since I have heart disease in my family. I do have elevated cholesterol levels and would prefer to try an herbal alternative over going on prescribed medication.

Foods That Are High in Trace Minerals

Our body requires many compounds to work. These serve as building blocks and let us carry out daily tasks efficiently. These compounds can be categorized into macro minerals and micro minerals owing to the amount in which our body necessitates them. Micro minerals are also known as trace minerals.

As the name itself suggests, macro minerals are those elemental compounds required in abundance. They are sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, chloride, and sulfur. In contrast, micro minerals are needed in smaller quantities. Their amount doesn't mean that they are less influential in any way. There are nine trace minerals. These include iron, copper, chromium, iodine, zinc, fluoride, selenium, cobalt, and manganese. Some foods are naturally rich in these nutrients. Certain fruits and vegetables, such as spinach, berries, broccoli, etc. When people fail to add these foods in their regular diet, they meet the deficiencies with the help of fruit and vegetable based supplements. Some examples are N1N Organic Super Greens, Elderberry Gummies by Gummies Garden, Balance of Nature, etc.

A balanced diet includes a suitable composition of macrominerals and trace minerals. A lack of these essential minerals can cause hindrances in body functions, suspension in hormone production, metabolic dysfunction, chronic illnesses, osteoporosis, lack of energy, etc. Therefore, intake of trace minerals is vital for your body.

In this article, we have mentioned the primary sources of each of the nine trace minerals separately. You should make sure that you incorporate them into your diet regularly.

1. Chromium

Chromium is an essential trace mineral for a healthy metabolic function. Not only does it help in storing starch and sugar in the body, but it also increases insulin response for regulating blood sugar levels.

Chromium is found in minimal quantities in various foods. Sources of chromium include fruits and vegetables like bananas, potatoes, apples, basil, garlic, broccoli, etc. Traces of dietary chromium are also found in meat and whole grains.

2. Copper

Copper plays a significant role in enzyme activity. This mineral may not hold much importance to you but is an invaluable factor in promoting strong bones and healthy blood vessels. Your body needs this mineral (even if it is in small amounts) to produce energy.

You can obtain copper in minor amounts from shellfish, organ meats, nuts, cocoa, seeds, and whole grains.

3. Fluoride

This vital mineral is widespread, and you're probably quite familiar with it as it is mentioned on almost all kinds of toothpaste. That's because our teeth need to prevent dental cavities and mineralize not just teeth but also bones. When taken in the right amounts, fluoride will surely keep both your bones and teeth strong and healthy.

Fluoride is commonly found in tea, seafood, and even drinking water. It is also present in mouth rinses and toothpaste.

4. Iodine

Never take iodine for granted. This crucial trace mineral is essential for normal thyroid gland function. Supplementary to that, it bolsters immunity and aids insulin action. It's also imperative to take inaccurate iodine amounts because over intake of this mineral may increase blood sugar.

You'll find iodine in a lot of seafood as well as dairy products. Plus, table sugar is also rich in iodine.

5. Iron

Hemoglobin and myoglobin are proteins found in the blood and bone cells. Iron is a significant component of both these proteins and helps in oxygen transport and storage.

Iron is primarily present in meat, legumes, leafy green vegetables, and even some beans.

6. Manganese

Manganese is a trace mineral that is actively involved in antioxidant reactivity. Healing of wounds and formation of bones are some typical roles of manganese. It is a cofactor for enzymes and is associated with protein, carbohydrates, and cholesterol metabolism. This mineral regulates blood sugar levels and acts as a potent nutrient involved in normal brain and nerve functions.

Rich sources of manganese include nuts, pineapples, coffee, tea, and legumes. Drinking water also contains negligible amounts of manganese.

7. Molybdenum

This mineral is involved in enzyme activity for the breakdown of toxins and drugs that enter the body. It also processes proteins into amino acids. Genetic materials like DNA are also broken down via this mineral.

Molybdenum can be found in many plant-based foods, for instance, legumes and nuts. Beef liver is also a pretty rich source of manganese.

8. Selenium

Just like iodine, selenium is a trace mineral involved in normal thyroid function. It plays a crucial role in the reproduction and synthesis of DNA.

Whole grains, seeds, nuts, and legumes are just some sources of selenium. People who eat plenty of plant-based foods are most unlikely to suffer from selenium deficiency.

9. Zinc

A lot of chemical reactions in your body are taking place due to the presence of zinc. This vital mineral is a significant component of your immune system. Its importance in the body is beyond imagination. You might not be able to taste your food well or even smell all those numerous things around you if it weren't for zinc. Vegetarians mostly have a zinc deficiency, but if you're a meat-eater, you'll probably have no problem with your zinc intake.

Zinc can be found in seafood, meats, and foods that are rich in proteins. Oysters are the best-known source, as they contain more amounts of zinc than any other food.

Trampoline Exercises for Weight Loss

Wasn’t it great fun to jump on the trampoline as a child? Just because you are all grown up now doesn’t mean you can’t do it anymore. The great news is that trampoline jumping is one of the best exercises out there, particularly if you are trying to lose weight. Add jumping on the trampoline to your list of things to do each day and you are likely to enjoy it so much that you will wear out your trampoline springs in no time. Here are four trampoline exercises you can do for weight loss.

1. Max Jumps

The goal of max jumps is to jump as high as you possibly can. When you land on your feet, avoid springing up. Instead, allow your feet to sink into the trampoline. Simultaneously lower your body into a squatting position. Doing so will help you jump higher when the trampoline thrusts you upward. To achieve the best results, perform around 10-12 sets. Resting for 15-30 seconds between each set is recommended.

2. Side to Side and Front to Back Hops

To perform this exercise, all you need to do is keep your feet together. Jump to the right and to the left. Jump to the front and to the back. The key is to hold your feet together at all times. Although it sounds easy, it can be a bit challenging to make sure you don’t accidentally jump off of the trampoline. Try hopping as fast as you can for about a minute.

3. Jumping Jacks

If you are ready to engage your upper body, then it is time to do jumping jacks on the trampoline. You already know how to do them, so give it a go! Jumping jacks will help you burn calories and melt away belly fat. For best results, finish about 2-4 sets of 1 minute each.

4. Jump Twist

Similar to jumping jacks, doing jump twists on the trampoline works your upper body and is great for burning calories. Begin by stretching out your arms, making them parallel to the ground. When you jump, twist your hips to the left and to the right. To achieve ideal results, perform around 2-4 sets of 1 minute each.

What could be more fun than jumping on the trampoline every day to lose weight? Dropping those pounds will no longer feel like a chore when you follow these simple exercises.

Feeling Overtired? Here’s How To Naturally Get Better Sleep

Moms seem to have this supernatural ability to keep going throughout the day on very little sleep. With just fumes in the tank, they manage to find a way to get everything done.

From work, to kids to school to sleepless nights it seems that there are just not enough hours in the day. Well, the thing is that eventually you will start to feel run down. And this can lead to health problems later on down the road.

Time to make sure that you are getting enough sleep so you don’t feel like you’re always running on empty. That cup of coffee can only do so much, after all.

In this article, I will go over some ideas on how to make sure that you are getting more sleep so you’ll have more energy and maybe even help you become a morning person!

1 - Reduce stress

Yes, it is easier said than done, but there are some routines you can practice to try to stay calm and not let stress take over and ruin your sleep. Stress builds up cortisol levels in your system and that causes your hormones to get out of balance.

When that happens, your internal clock can get thrown off. You need to get more serotonin flowing instead of the cortisol which will keep your mind off of the stress and help you find some balance.

Meditating with aromatherapy beads from Kumi is a great way to get rid of stress. When you do it regularly, it will keep the stress from creeping up on you so you can feel calm and ready to sleep when it’s time.

Yoga is also a great way to do this and it helps keep you in good shape, too. Doing exercise is a very effective stress reliever as it pumps your system full of endorphins which just make you feel good. When you do yoga you get the endorphins as well as help clear your mind and stay focused on the present.

2 - Make your bedroom cozy

If you have clutter in your bedroom, find a way to organize it as clutter can be depressing and lead to difficulty sleeping.

Your bedroom needs to be an oasis so you have a place to go and get the rest you need to take on the day. After getting things organized so your bedroom is tidy, you should also focus on the lighting. Soft lights are best, especially red so it creates an atmosphere that makes you sleepy.

You should also use some aromatherapy there, too. Add a diffuser that spreads aromas like lavender to help you sleep.

3 - Put the phone down

The blue light emitted from phones and tablets is known to disrupt melatonin production which is responsible for telling the brain to shut down for sleep. If you like to browse your social media before bed, make it a point not to. At least 30 minutes before bed, you should put your devices away and not look at them.

We hope these tips can help you get a better night's sleep.

3 Ways To Fight Brain Fog

Do you ever feel like you are walking around in a daze, or cannot keep your mind focused on the task at hand? Do you feel like you are not as mentally sharp as you used to be? If you answered yes, you are not alone. Many people suffer from what has come to be known as brain fog. Brain fog can describe a person who is experiencing decreased concentration, diminished memory, insufficient focus, or overall weakened mental clarity. It can be linked to a myriad of causes and affect important areas of your life, such as your job, schoolwork, or relationships. Although there are life changes that you can make to help decrease these symptoms, you might find it helpful to take supplements for mental clarity for a jump start to help the fog lift.

Sleep

It cannot be said enough how important getting adequate sleep is for your overall health. Proper sleep is a cornerstone for all the other healthy habits you strive to maintain and is critical for your brain to function at its best. it is easy to identify the physical struggle that comes from a lack of sleep, such as not having the energy to exercise, or having that overwhelming urge to take a nap in the middle of the workday. Other symptoms may not be as easy to recognize.

When you are overtired, you can experience a rise in depression and a decrease in good mental health. When your mind is so busy battling negative thoughts and feelings, you lose some of your mental bandwidth needed to deal with the life that is in front of you. Lack of sleep can also affect your blood sugar level. When your blood sugar level is too low, you can experience extreme lethargy that paralyzes you to the point of not even wanting to move, and your ability to think becomes fuzzy and unclear.

Eat Healthy

Proper nutrition is very important for your mental health. You would not purposely put bad gasoline in your car because it would negatively affect the car's performance. Treat your body the same way. Ensure that you are regularly consuming foods that contain vitamins and nutrients that are especially good for brain support, such as Omega-3 fatty acids

Train Your Brain

Being able to relax and de-stress is important for good mental health. Your life might be similar to that of many people who have full daily schedules and find it hard to keep up with a growing to-do list. Sometimes participating in a rather mindless activity, such as watching TV or scrolling through social media, is exactly what you need. Strive to also spend time regularly engaged in hobbies or projects that will tax your brain. You can try doing crossword or jigsaw puzzles, learning a new style of dance, or using your non-dominant hand to do things like brush your teeth.

You are likely bombarded with stressors and activities every day that compete for your attention and can clutter your mind. Put up your best defense against brain fog by sleeping well, choosing healthy foods and supplements, and engaging in mind sharpening activities.

Alternative to CBD Shops in Columbia, SC

Cannabidiol, or CBD, has become increasingly popular throughout the United States, especially in places like Columbia, South Carolina. This beautiful state has seen a surge in CBD shops in recent years. However, for the average consumer, walking into one of these shops can be daunting. How can you know if the products are trustworthy? How do you avoid wasting your hard-earned bucks?

Here, we'll guide you through the recent cannabidiol craze - and the available alternatives to CBD shops in Columbia.

The Rising Popularity of CBD

The popularity of CBD has snowballed in recent years. Nowadays, you can walk into numerous stores in Columbia, promoting their cannabidiol products. Some gas stations even sell this product.

A study by Medical News Today investigating the public interest in CBD demonstrated that Google Searches for it significantly increased since 2014 and are still increasing. In April 2019, there were about 6.4 million CBD searches. Another study by USA Today published in the peer-review JAMA Network Open shows a 160.4 increase in searches in 2018, compared to the previous year.

The explosive interest in this herbal product has to do with two things: federal approval and hemp-derived properties.

Cannabidiol is a derivative of the hemp plant. In 2018, it gained approval from multiple federal regulators following the US Farm Bill legalizing industrial hemp. With federal approval, numerous manufacturers got the green light to create products centered around cannabidiol.

CBD also comes from the hemp plant, and that distinction is crucial. People often confuse cannabidiol with marijuana, but hemp is a different strain of the cannabis plant than marijuana. Marijuana has THC, which gets users high. Cannabidiol from hemp does not contain THC. Indeed, the 2018 Farm Bill strictly stated that cannabidiol sold to the public had to have less than 3% THC.

The rising popularity of CBD has been incredible for many people. People from all walks of life have enjoyed this herbal product in all-forms, including the use of water soluble CBD oil as a solution. Seniors with health issues, young people for experimentation, mothers seeking natural solutions for maternal aches - all types of people have turned to CBD.

However, with increased availability come several risks, making it necessary to find alternatives to local CBD shops. The only thing growing faster than CBD's popularity is confusion about what exactly it is, how it works, how you can use it, and where you can get it.

Why Seek an Alternative to In-Store Options?

Cannabidiol products in stores may not be the same quality as the CBD products online. Besides issues of availability, people seek alternatives for various reasons, as discussed below:

Reliability and Quality Guarantee

The increasing popularity in CBD oil has, unfortunately, come with an increasing number of companies that are deceptive to consumers. Some of these companies take advantage of consumers and add harmful components that may have potential side effects.
With online options, you can vet the products by checking the seller's quality guarantee. Most online CBD vendors publish their lab reports.

These reports indicate the quality, quantity, and source of cannabidiol in the products you purchase. The result? You get an assurance of the manufacturer's reliability and a quality guarantee.

We suggest that you purchase CBD oil directly from a reputable manufacturer's website to avoid scams from deceptive entrepreneurs. It will help you avoid imitations, and you might also get offers and discounts, including a free trial. You will also receive products that have been thoroughly tested and researched.

Availability

Alternatives to CBD shops in Columbia may also be desirable for availability. Going to your local shop to pick up some products may seem convenient - until it's bedtime, and you realize that you've run out of your CBD.

Online options mean you can shop for products when you want, where you want. You don't have to worry about running out as long as you put in your order to have it delivered securely and discreetly.

Additionally, many CBD Shops in Columbia have closed down following the current economic recession. The pandemic also has made some people leery of going into crowded retailers. For convenience and health, online alternatives can be lifesavers.

Variety

Cannabidiol is available in numerous forms, but your local shop might only carry a handful of products. The retailer has to think about their business, too, which means they won't carry the entire stock of available products in case they don't sell. The limited selection means you're missing out on the variety!

When you shop for cannabidiol, you can find:

● CBD oils, water-soluble oils, and tinctures - you can place these sublingually or add to any beverage or meal
● Edibles - CBD comes in a wide range of products to eat and drink. They include gummies, chocolates, cakes, etc.
● Vape juices
● Pills and capsules
● Topicals, balms, creams
● Self-care - lip balms, bath bombs, eye serums
● Pet products - dog treats, canine tinctures

Find CBD Oil Online Today!

It's crucial to make sure you buy the best quality products from approved suppliers. If you're looking for alternatives to CBD shops in Columbia, SC, your best bet is to shop online.

Prepare For Cold & Flu Season With The Exergen Smart Glow TemporalScanner

With the holiday season behind us, many people are stocking up on all of the necessities to help battle against cold and flu season. The weather has taken a huge turn from the mild temperatures and we are feeling the deep chill of winter. We always have items like cold medicine, fever and headache reducers, assorted teas, and vitamin supplements on hand. The latest addition to our medicine cabinet is the Exergen Smart Glow TemporalScanner. This thermometer is unlike the old school digital ones that are sometimes tricky to use or provide inaccurate results.
The Smart Glow thermometer works by pressing a button and passing the top area over your child's (or your) forehead and boom, the temperature is revealed within seconds. The beeping sounds will indicate when it's done. Seriously, this would make any parent's life easier. You can even use it on your child while they are sleeping. Why didn't I have something like this when my kids were babies?
The display is illuminated, so this means you can check your child's temperature in any lighting. The days of making your kid sit still or hold a thermometer under their tongue is over! Let's not even go there with the rectal thermometers from the infant stages.  I love this even for myself. It's such a convenient and accurate way to monitor fevers. I've seen one similar in the doctor's office and was very impressed. I remember my reaction after seeing the temperature revealed so quickly being like, "Wait, that's it?!" Now I can feel like I have something comparable to what many nurses in doctor's offices are using. I'm telling you, once you have used this fabulous thermometer, you will never be able to go back to the old school ways. This says a lot coming from a very old-fashioned person like myself.

Some facts about the Exergen Smart Glow TemporalScanner:

The TemporalScanner™ comes with four ways to make it even easier to take a temperature:

· A softly illuminated display for easy reading in any light – perfect for checking the temperature of a sleeping infant in a darkened room

· Beeping sound indicating scanning can be turned off or on to avoid waking a sleeping child

· Automatically retains the last eight temperature readings for instant recall to check on fever progression

· Ability to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius modes

Made in the United States, the Exergen Smart Glow TemporalScanner™ is the number one preferred thermometer by both nurses and pediatricians, and is backed by more than 55 clinical studies proving its accuracy.

It is sold at major retail stores including Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Costco, Babies “R” Us, Toys “R” Us, Kroger and BJ’s. The Smart Glow thermometer retails for $49.99. Trust me, it is well worth the money. This would make a great gift for expectant parents. As a matter of fact, if you are expecting a baby, you should add this on your gift registry.

If you'd like more information about the Exergen thermometer, check out their website and follow them on Facebook and Twitter for product tips and promotions. I wish you all well during this cold and flu season.

I received a product sample in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own as always.

The Women's Roadmap To Health

National Girlfriends Day was earlier this month, but it's always a good thing to have a friend remind you about keeping up with your annual wellness check-ups. It's easy for time to pass you by or to just put it off. Joining forces with your friends can be the push you need to get things done. My doctor even has a group of girlfriends who all schedule their annual woman's check-up in the same week and get together in one evening for margaritas to celebrate each other getting their health screenings done. I think that is such a cute idea.

Check out the infographic below from Oscar Health Insurance Company for details on what specific screenings you should have done and when. They're a new company wanting to shake up the health care field and help their members be proactive about their health through their various incentives. If you're in these areas, check out their health insurance plans in New Jersey and New York. Feel free to share with your girlfriends and family members.
