blog slacking

Hey Y'all...
I have been so bad at keeping up with the blog for the past few days. I guess you can say that I have been doing the mom thing so that has been my #1 priority. Having a 6 month old baby keeps my hands full and I never want that to affect my other children. I am a mom first before anything else. Oh, and if you had the husband I have, you would see how tough my job can be! Speaking of the hubby, please check out his blog. I have also been trying to help him get it together so be sure to show some love. I have some interesting topics I want to throw your way so be sure to keep checking in on me. We will have some good ones for tomorrow's Don'tcha hate it when... Wednesday. I am also going to have my daughters featured as guest writers so that will be very interesting. The are nicknamed little Shellys so who knows what might be in store! Dwayne, BEWARE!! I hope everyone has a successful day!

whining and see ya laters

I had to drop Briahnna off this morning for her to go on her very first out-of-town overnight field study for school. She is going to Camp Greenville and will return tomorrow afternoon. I miss her already. She has been sneaking text messages to let me know what all is going on. They are not allowed any electronic devices since the purpose of this trip is for team building and getting to know your classmates. I gave her permission to sneak me, Papo or big sis a text when she could. (I know bad, rule breaking mommy) When I was seeing her off I gave her a big kiss and hug and told her to remember my 150 rules and be respectful and before I could finish saying all I needed she was on the bus. What a brat! Chardie went on this same trip when she was in the 6th grade and her life changed forever because of it. I hope Briahnna feels that way.
Now as for the littlest member of the family, he has learned how to whine. I don't like it one bit. I get enough of that from the hubby and now I get a double dose. What did I do to deserve this?!!
I hope everyone has an awesome day!

Don'tcha hate it when.... Wednesday

Don'tcha hate it when...
  • you grab a doorknob and it's sticky or greasy and as always, nobody did it.
  • you are trying to help your hubby by getting him ready for work (making coffee, breakfast, ironing clothing, and packing lunch) and he is mad at you for making him get up. Hello?? Hot coffee and breakfast?!!!
  • you finally finished cleaning the house and then the family comes home. If you are a SAHM you know exactly what I mean.
  • When your wife puts you on blast and put all your business out in the aura ( Dwayne )
  • When you make a post and you get 1 comment, but your wife makes a post and gets 15 million comments ( Dwayne- PS- thanks Katie for commenting on my post :))
  • you are reminded of why you can't stand going to WalMart because you get hit up to buy something before you make it into the actual store.

Now it's your turn, hit us up in the comments...

boy parts- update

Well, I got the answer from the doctor this morning on why my boy's winkie goes inward sometimes. It turns out that it is perfectly normal for that to happen. The reason it happens is because he is so chunky, that's it~! Now Dwayne can breathe freely and know his son's winkie is perfectly healthy and normal.
The end.

boy parts

I know this post is going to seem strange but understand I know nothing about baby boys. Will has his 6 month appointment tomorrow with the pediatrician and I have made a list of questions/ concerns for the doctor. My questions are very simple things like skin dryness and teething. Now Dwayne has the manly man question (what a surprise huh?) He wants to know if it is normal for his boy's little winkie to go inward. He is greatly concerned for his son's penis. I think it is the most important concern he has. Does anyone know if this is normal? I just don't want to look like a complete idiot to the doctor. If Dwayne was able to go then I would let him handle that one. If anyone with little boys can advise me on this one I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks...

William at 6 months

Oh no! Where did the time go? Our baby is 6 months old today. He is one BIG, happy baby and as you can see from these photos, he does not have enough toys and does not get enough attention. Poor William...

Don'tcha hate it when.... Wednesday

You know how it works...

Don'tcha hate it when...
  • you are eating something that is so good and you run out and all you need is like one or two more bites to be satisfied.
  • you finally get out of the house alone and your cell phone rings off the hook.
  • you find fingerprints on your computer screen and they don't belong to you. ugh!
  • people post like a thousand youtube videos on their blog. (not targeted at anyone specific Dwayne)
  • you are forced to retire your favorite article of clothing. (Yes Dwayne, the 15 year old Miami Hurricanes shorts have got to go!)

Okay, I'm tapped out now, it's your turn. Hit us up in the comments...

Someone is 14 now

Here's my big girl, Chardonnay. She is officially 14 now. Look at her all grown-up looking. She wears make-up now, not a lot just enough to enhance her natural beauty. *sigh* Before you know it she will be driving. Yikes! I can't believe I have a kid that old! Nobody better be calling me old right now.
Happy Birthday Chardie!!

How to tame a wild hubby

Pop this in the DVD player...

Sit one of these in front of him...

And offer up a few of these as needed and you are done!

This is a winning combination, you can't go wrong. The movie will keep him focused on the TV (as if it was possible to focus on anything else with the TV playing). The food will fill his gut and the beer will calm him down. Perfect. The end.

family updates

Oh boy it has been busy, busy, busy for this family. Let's see, where do I start...
Well, Sunday was Briahnna's 12th birthday. Since it is volleyball season we decided to not have a a party because of how busy the family's schedule is. I let the kid decide what she wanted as her special birthday dinner. This is what she decided on...
Jumbo shrimp cocktail (that's my kid!)

Fried chicken tenders, steamed broccoli, homemade mac'n'cheese, and corn on the cob.

She was happy with her choices.

Poor little Milo just won't give this toy up. The more beat up the toy the better it is to him. Milo, it's time to let it go.

Here is Will sleeping on his daddy. Yes, he is drooling!

The girls are both a part of their school's volleyball team. Briahnna is a team manager and Chardonnay is one of the talented athletes. They played their first game yesterday and won! I would have taken photos but the hubby had the camera last and did not recharge the battery. This was all I got...

Briahnna had to steal a quick kiss from little brother before I yelled at her to get back to her manager's post. Can you tell that William does not get enough attention?

We have games every Wednesday until October 22. I try to do as much as I can always to support the kids. I baked about 2 dozen giant chocolate chip cookies for a bake sale at school and Chardonnay sent me a text to tell me they sold out in a minute! Some of them were already purchased by my family before they even made it out the door. That was worth my 3 hours in the kitchen! I know I spent more than they probably made but the kids are more than worth it. Okay that's enough for now. I hope everyone has a great day!!

Question

Have you ever had a conversation with someone and they listen to what you have to say for a minute and then say "anyway" and proceed to speak? Do you ever feel as if they are dismissing you? Do you think it is rude when that person seems to keep using the word 'anyway' throughout the conversation?

I want another baby

As I drove my girls to school this morning a strange feeling came over me. I want another baby. Do I really want William to grow up without any siblings closer to his age? After all, the girls are 2 years apart and have grown up together and they are never alone. I guess I grew up with three siblings so I have always been used to a large family. I know my hubby will read this and freak out! I just really would not mind having another little one. I do have a cousin that recently had her 4th child and she has offered for me to borrow one of hers. Maybe I should take the cheap route and do that! But just in case, I will hang onto all my baby stuff for a little while. :)
