3 Pieces of Info About the Stargirl Series

When you sit down to watch TV, how do you go about finding a show to watch? Do you scroll mindlessly until you stumble on something you think looks good? Do you scour the internet for reviews and critiques about new series, or do you ask your friends and family what they're currently binging? Whatever method you choose, finding the perfect series is no easy feat. Geoff Johns just finished executively producing Stargirl, a new DC comics web series that's worth a watch. Here are three pieces of info about the show to help you better understand the series.

.

1. Stargirl Was Part of the Justice League of America

The JLA has been around for a while and has undergone many updates and relaunches throughout its tenure. When the Justice League was getting back into action, Stargirl becomes a pinnacle focus for the team and its image. She appears on a lot of posters and ads for the JLA and is a critical member. While Stargirl wasn't the most widely recognized face of the Justice League, she was still a part of the powerful team.

2. There are Live-Action Portrayals of the Series

While this new series is animated, there are a few live-action series of the show, too. In these live-action series of Stargirl, she isn't portrayed in the modern world but is instead featured in a more classic, throwback style.

3. Stargirl is Featured Alongside Other Heroes

While Stargirl is getting her own series with this new launch, this isn't her debut. Instead, she's been seen alongside other prominent superheroes including Clark Kent in Smallville_(TV_series). During the Smallville series, Stargirl is in full costume and holding the Cosmic staff which gives her power and strength to fight evil. While the Smallville series portrays a lot of other superheroes in unique ways that aren't super accurate, Stargirl's representation is pretty spot on. It's always a fun idea to go back and watch shows you've always enjoyed but maybe didn't always notice every small detail about. Re-watching Smallville may be a good idea to give you a better understanding of Stargirl, as well.

When you sit down to watch a show for the first time, it's really easy to miss a lot of content and backstory that's part of the series. You'll probably see something you never noticed before if you opt for a re-watch. If you're on the hunt for a new show, Stargirl may be the perfect addition to your list.

SOL REPUBLIC Music Made Me Do It- The Ultimate Giveaway #MMMDI

**CLOSED**
If there is any one thing that I can think of that just about every person has in common, it has to be MUSIC. No matter what genre, artist or group, we all have songs that have have special meaning or keep us going when we need a boost. I can recall so many instances where music took over me and helped me though situations tough situations or motivated me to be the best.

I remember being a very young adult and living with a room mate. I would go to the night clubs with friends and I was known as the more shy and reserved one. The minute I would hear the bass pumping out of the speakers, it's as if something would take over me and I would be ready to hit the dance floor. While everyone else was drinking alcohol to have a good time, I was getting lost in the music. It was all I needed to truly enjoy myself. When the DJ would play "my jam", we would all run out to the middle of the dance floor and dance into the wee hours of the night. Fast forward to being a 40-something mom of 3-- music still plays a big part in my life. I have a lot of responsibility and motivation doesn't always come easy. I sometimes have big events coming up where I am in charge of organizing most of the details. I get so flustered and stressed to where I don't know where to start. I slip on my SOL REPUBLIC headphones, choose one of my favorite tunes and turn the volume up. After a few songs, I'm ready to take on those mentally draining tasks. Another time where music saves me and also encourages me is when I am working out. As long as my favorite tunes are in my ears, I push myself harder. Music makes me do it!

Right now SOL REPUBLIC is having a Music Makes Me Do It contest where they want to see you Tweet, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube-- share on social media what music makes YOU do. Check out “‘Summer with Cimorelli,’ served fresh by SUBWAY” & a fun giveaway

**CLOSED**- Winner is Kenyatta R

I recently learned about Cimorelli, a six-sister a cappella group which performs original and top hits.

They are a YouTube sensation and I must say, those girls can sing! I watched a few of their music videos and found myself dancing in my chair. I love their cover of "Treasure" by Bruno Mars. My younger daughter walked in on me checking out some of Cimorelli's videos and she was like, "Hey, I know who they are! I saw them on a SUBWAY commercial!" And here they are in their latest SUBWAY commercial...

The Cimorelli sisters are signed to Universal Music’s Island label and have more than 700 million YouTube views.  “Summer with Cimorelli,” the sisters’ new AwesomenessTV web series, served fresh by SUBWAY, premiered at the beginning of June and their fans have been going crazy for it!  The six-part series takes viewers into the world of a family on the verge of musical stardom.

I was able to chat with them in a Google Hangout last week and they all remind me of my own daughters. Their mother is a music teacher and that's what started it all. They have been having a blast filming their web series and it's full of parties, singing, a monkey (yes, a MONKEY) and tons of shenanigans. No worries, there are many learning lessons along the way.

So I confess, I have watched all of the episodes they have posted and I might be just a tiny bit hooked and anticipating the next one. Here's the first episode. Don't get mad if the theme song gets stuck in your head ;)

You can subscribe to their official Cimorelli YouTube channel to watch their web series, Summer with Cimorelli and also check out their music videos.

For added Summer fun, one lucky Mom Files reader will win a prize pack including some Summer with Cimorelli swag and a $50 SUBWAY gift card! Enter below:
