YO GABBA GABBA! LIVE!: THERE’S A PARTY IN MY CITY! North American Tour is coming to our city of Columbia, SC on Nov 2! Show times are at 2 and 6:30 p.m. at the Township Auditorium. Tickets are $39 and $29, plus applicable service fees, available at Township Auditorium Box Office, All Ticketmaster Outlets, by phone at 800-745-3000, or online at http://www.ticketmaster.com.
Champions on the stage and in the community, the Gabba Gang will partner with Habitat for Humanity to further their homebuilding efforts in Columbia. In addition, $1 from every ticket sold for YO GABBA GABBA! LIVE!: THERE’S A PARTY IN MY CITY! in Columbia will be donated to the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate. The state-of-the-art production features music, singing, dancing and animation. The show is an interactive experience that offers audience members of all ages the opportunity to witness their favorite characters come to life. Joining the characters on stage will be hip-hop legend Biz Markie to teach kids how to beat box with “Biz’s Beat of the Day”. Special guests will join the party on stage for the Super Music Friends Show and Dancey Dance segments.

We were so fortunate to get tickets to go see Yo Gabba Gabba! Live- THERE'S A PARTY IN MY CITY! We could not believe they actually came to our small city of Columbia, South Carolina. I will say that the venue was packed and the fans came in all ages. The crowd was so full of energy and excitement. If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook then you would know how excited I was! All of the "kids" were given DJ Lance Rock glasses when we entered. Obviously you see which two got them...
Although Chardie and Brie are 16 & 14 they were so excited to be there to see the show. The music was amazing and we were all jammin' to our favorite songs. William was immediately drawn to all the sights and sounds. Dwayne and I were concerned about how William would do since he tends to get a bit overwhelmed with very loud music and large crowds. He showed us what a big boy he was. We were all so happy with how much he enjoyed the show!
If you took a good look around the audience there were so many smiles and such a sense of family and happiness all around. DJ Lance Rock and the Gabba crew were so entertaining and really made the audience a big part of the show with all of the interaction. Even when they did the intermission there was no time to get restless, they kept the music going and the balloon drop was a HUGE hit! At least the little ones has something to keep them busy while you waiting for the show to continue.
Now the best part that Dwayne and I especially loved was when Biz Markie came out to do Biz's beat of the day. I had to warn Dwayne when Biz asked who wanted to come up to spit a beat with him that he could not go up there. He was sad. No really, he was so sad. He wanted to go onstage.
It is unanimous when I say that this was the best show we have ever seen! The girls even said that they would have missed other social functions to see that show again! Now when you hear that from teenagers then you know it was amazing!! I think if you are a Yo Gabba Gabba! fan then you should really check it out for yourself if they come to your city. We left with happy hearts. Little William is still singing the "Good-bye" song days later :)

Of course we had our big guy that was thrilled to bits to get a photo op with Cookie Monster! He pulled me aside and asked if I thought they would let him take a solo shot with him. Imagine my big cookie monster with the real-life one! In true Dwayne form he just had to throw up the peace sign since he was posing with a really cool celebrity.
As we walked into the Colonial Life Arena we took in the sights of this huge venue and had to walk down what felt like 200 steps to get to the floor seats. The big treat is that we got to sit in the third row away from the actual stage. I have never sat that close at any show so we really had the best view! When the show started we were told to get ready because it was going to get amped up really fast. That was no lie. The action was astonishing! The set, the lights, the music, singing, dancing and the overall mood was amazing!!
I took a moment to look at the crowd of moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents, children and friends and it was so fun seeing all the smiling faces! I saw grown men singing the songs and swaying back and forth to the music. We were in awe of how awesome the choreography was. These characters had mad rhythm!!! It was neat how the some of the characters interacted with the crowd.
The show was so impressive and I loved how a lot of familiar songs that were made over into pre-school friendly songs. I was really shocked to see how much my teenage daughters were drawn into the show. They can't wait for the next one that comes to town!
I know I will be taking William to another Sesame Street Live production when he is a couple years older so that he can better understand what is going on. I certainly recommend this show for families when it comes to your city. I am not sure who loved it more...the adults or the little ones!!
