Do people sleep anymore?

I wonder if anyone sleeps anymore. I know I am one those rare "the minute my head hits the pillow I'm out" kind of people. I have NO problem sleeping. Now don't get me wrong, there are times that I have interrupted or broken sleep and the few rare nights that I barely get a couple hours. For the most part sleep is never an issue for me. I noticed that all across Facebook and Twitter there seems to be an epidemic of insomniacs. I see people signing off Facebook at 6 am so they can catch an hour. I am so astonished by this. I don't know how anyone can function like this every day. I am worried about some of my cyber friends that have this problem.

Are you a sufferer of insomnia? If so how do you cope with it and do you do anything to help yourself get the proper sleep your body needs?

  1. I have had chronic insomnia since I was 3 years old. I seem to have a sleeping binge and purge problem. No sleep No sleep No sleep SLEEEEEEEEEEEP.
Problem is I can't schedule the pass the fug out portion so it's hard to make plans in advance when I might not even be conscious that day.
I'm on Ambien now and it's getting better.

  3. I suffer from insomnia and panic disorder ONLY at night! I even take meds to help but honestly they dont anymore. Then about 9am, I am struggling. Its like an infant turned around on night and day. Its that point when everyone I love is being taken care of by someone else that I want to sleep. Like Dalton at daycare and Russ at work...I hate it! I used to be like you! Head hit the pillow and wham I was out. Everything changed when I had Dalton...:(

  4. I don't have trouble with insomnia. I do however have trouble making myself go to bed on time some nights. I treasure the quiet non-kid hours and am loathe to give them up for sleep.

  5. I have had insomnia to degrees for years. Lately, I cannot sleep for more than 4 hours without waking up and not going back to sleep right away.

I used to have it bad where I woke up every other hour. Then I got a new bed and sleep like a baby. Since 2007 and 2008, when two times someone tried to break in while I was at home, I have been able to sleep well. I used to have panic attacks. Now, if I hear a noise, I tend to wake and sometimes jump up.

  6. I love sleep. I would sleep 12 hours a day if I could. I sometimes suffer from insomnia when I'm stressed out at work.

  7. At times I have difficulty sleeping at night. I lie awake tossing and turning in bed thinking about all that needs to be done the next day or generally because my husband tosses and turns, which keeps me awake in the process

  8. I am one of those people who goes to bed at 1am wakes up at 4am goes back to sleep at 430am and then wakes back up at 7am to get the kids ready for school. I have no clue how I do it or why. I think alot of it has to do that honestly Im a punk because hubby isn't here (well for the next 2 weeks he is lol) so I dont sleep sound like I do when he is here. It probably would be nice to not sleep with my laptop on his side of the bed but I do, so that's where the middle of the night facebook logins come into play lol!

  9. Insomnia is my middle name. I only receive somewhere between 4 and 5 hours a sleep per night, for the last four or five years it seems. I will have to attend one of those occasional 'hardly no sleep' nights and end up crashing the next evening in order to get at least eight hours.

    Consider yourself blessed. LOL.

  10. Once I lay down, I'm out. Don't worry if you see me up through all weird hours, it's probably because I pulled an all nighter and Greg's been sleep so he can take over when I go to sleep. It's not ideal, but when there's work to b e done, you do it when you can.
