Here are some of my favorite things about living in the friendly state of South Carolina:
- I love the wardrobe. Jeans, flip-flops and a Carolina Girl t-shirt.
- Mom & Pop shops. They make you feel like you are family and that you are the only customer in the store.
- Our every day greeting "Hey Y'all!"
- You can have grits for dinner.
- Sweet tea, as Paula Deen calls it "House wine of the South"
- I love the fact that you can actually get to the country in less than 10 minutes. Seeing the farms, horses, cows and country living is so beautiful. Feels like a getaway.
- Southern Hospitality and charm.
- The fact that there is an actual senior citizen to greet you when you walk into Wal-Mart. Then as you leave they say in a Southern accent "Thanks for shopping at Wal-Mart, Y'all come back".
- Most people hold the door open for you and allow you to cross through the parking lot.
- I just could not imaging living anyplace else :)
Im so gonna be in the south one day for good. WE are going to Texas in march..CANT WAIT!
ReplyDeleteI love the South! I went to North Carolina/South Carolina on a vacation once. LOVED IT! It is one of my dreams to live down there, Alan- not so much. Not only do you have southern hospitality, but it is absolutely gorgeous there as well.Guess I have to live vicariously through you.
ReplyDeleteYour funny to show your girls my picture... Thanks for the complements! Lord knows when your pregnant you can use all you can get.
I love living in North Carolina (hey, we are practically neighbors). There are so many fabulous things about the south.
ReplyDeleteEverything you said is the same here in Texas only done a little slower and a lot bigger. lol
ReplyDeletesounds like a wonderful place to live and love, thank you for sharing
i live in palmetto ga seeing that tree on the flag reminded me of that
ReplyDeleteAll of these things represent the south all together. I love the walamrt greeters. I joke with mom that when she retires, that is what she should do, she loves to talk.
ReplyDeleteI love this too:

I moved to South Carolina just a few months ago and it is absolutely amazing! I love every part of living down here and I have even gotten used to the alligators in the rivers and snakes in the ditch behind my house (I am from Ukraine, so it is quite a change for me.) Southern hospitality, friendliness and lots of sun are definitely the best things about living in SC for me.
ReplyDeleteI moved last year to SC (from Spain) and I would never had expected this great state! I travelled a bit inside US and by far very polite people, willing to help you...
ReplyDeleteRecently I said, WOH! I love South Carolina! so I came up with a design you can find on the link on my name...
I hope you like it as I do!
