Use word verification
I unfortunately had to learn this the hard way. If you have opted to receive follow-up comments to a post from Momfiles you might get one in a foreign language. Please delete it immediately. My blog was spammed last night so I had to add word verification today. I apologize for any inconvenience. To protect our readers from receiving any more unsolicited email I will also enable the comment moderation function. Comments will no longer immediately show up until I approve them. Thanks so much for your patience and understanding. Since we are on the subject, has this ever happened to you?

I have never had that problem. The only thing that has happened to me is someone might leave a spam comment but it hasn't caused problems. I just delete it.
ReplyDeletesorry to hear that folk - i hate spam
ReplyDeleteI had word verification on for a long time, but still got the occasional spam comment. People have complained in posts about word verification, so I finally just removed it. Spammers will be spammers.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah...I added word verification a long time ago after I got 3 or 4 spam messages on the same post...ugh!
ReplyDeleteNo spam on me yet, but I understand. I am just bummed that you can't pull up my blog anymore (pout)! I know you are with me in spirit!
ReplyDeletespam belongs in a can not your inbox!!! sorry this happened to you. :(
ReplyDeleteNot that many people read my blog to spam me :) :( that's a good and bad thing?
ReplyDeleteAnd I put word verification on mine along time ago because the local news did a story on people stealing stuff from your blogs and protecting yourself and all that.
