Signs you were a child in the 70's

  • You made cakes in your Easy Bake Oven.
  • You made snow cones with your Snoopy Snow Cone Machine.
  • You made Shrinky-Dinks.
  • You used to tape record songs off the radio by holding your portable tape recorder up to the speaker.
  • You wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer. (top of my list!)
  • You thought Olivia Newton John's song, "Physical" was about aerobics.
  • You had the Donnie and Marie dolls.
  • You wore a poncho, gauchos, and knickers.
  • You had a crush on Deney Terrio from Dance Fever.
  • It was cool to have the "Dorothy Hamill" hairstyle.

  1. Great post. You know another way you can tell if you are a child of the 70's or not? If I talk about that "puertorican guy and asian chick on Soul Train" and you know exactly who I'm talking about..lol Peace.

  8. Easy Bake Oven - lame, the cakes were inedible.

Snoopy Snow Cone Machine - had that too, also lame.

Definitely made shrinky dinks - Loved it!

I recorded my songs from the radio using the brand spanking new boom box.

Loved Solid Gold and Dance Fever.

I knew Olivia Newton's John was about sex because it was a scandal back in the day, if you can believe it.

Always watched Donnie and Marie, never had the dolls.

    Wore poncho, gauchos, never knickers.

I had the Dorothy Hamill haircut.

I think all my bona fides are in order. Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

  9. I made cakes in my Easy Bake Oven - lame, they were inedible.

Had the Snoopy Snow Cone Machine, also lame. It worked hard to produce practically nothing.

    Loved making Shrinky Dinks!

Used a brand spanking new boom box to record songs off the radio.

Loved watching both Solid Gold and Dance Fever.

I knew "Physical" was about sex because at that time it was a major scandal. Some radio stations wouldn't play it.

Always watched Donnie and Marie, never had the dolls.

    Wore poncho, gaucho, never knickers.

I had the Dorothy Hamill hairstyle.
