Winners are #118 Jim & #57 Kittenish~ Congratulations!
As a member of the Purex Insiders, I was happy to receive a bottle of the new Purex® Complete with Zout®. I was even happier that is was the Free & Clear version since my 16 year old is allergic to most scented laundry detergents. It comes in both Free & Clear and also Fresh Morning Burst scent. Purex® Complete with Zout® combines the proven performance of Purex detergent with the triple-enzyme stain-fighting power of Zout® pretreater. This powerful combination works to get stains out the first time, even tough stains like grass, chocolate, and tomato sauce. The best part is that you can't beat the price!
A cool thing about Purex® Complete with Zout® is that it can be used in both traditional and HE machines. It does not suds up as much in my old washing machine but it still cleaned my clothes like I expected it would. If you are not sure if the product works you can prove it to yourself by signing up for a FREE sample (while supplies last)
The great folks from Purex® have provided me with coupons for 1 FREE Purex® Complete with Zout® detergent to give away to 2 lucky Momfiles readers.

The Greener Good | Review & Giveaway
{Closed}
I recently had the pleasure of receiving some wonderful green products from The Greener Good. The Greener Good is the ultimate resource for going green. They provide products, services, and educational opportunities for those interested in greening their homes, lives, and families. The Greener Good product offering includes home, lawn & garden, home improvement, cleaning, apparel, body, baby and pet products. I checked several items that I thought were so unique and I am so loving the bamboo tops and skirts.
I received a Recycled Canvas Eco Tote Bag along with the matching Eco Key Fob, a container of OXY-Boost Ultra-Concentrated Destainer & Deodorizer, a bar of The Laundress Wash & Stain Bar, and a packet of The Laundress Stain Solution.
I will say that the Canvas Eco Tote Bag is so impressive if you see it in person. It is HUGE and actually has pockets inside. The quality is top notch and I really love the way it is designed. This would be great for day trips or even as an overnight bag. The key fob is perfect for having your ID card for work or school easily accessible as well as the zipper pocket to store debit cards, business cards, cash etc... Of course I have a teenagers who called dibs on these items~ We'll see what happens with that!
I was very excited to try out the OXY-Boost since the container said "earth health & pet friendly". If you are an animal owner you know how important it is to be extra cautious with what cleaning agents you use around them and on their washable items. I read up a bit on the OXY-Boost and found out that it is a safe alternative to traditional chlorine-based products. Its safe to use on most washable fabrics and is compatible with other household cleaning agents. Also, it produces no harmful by-products which negatively affect the environment. Unlike chlorine bleach, which can merely cover up a stain, Oxy-Boost attacks and breaks down organic stains to totally remove them from the garment. I decided to give it a try on my 3 year old's sneakers. They were covered in dirt, dust and grass stains. I threw them in the washing machine along with some other shoes and I was so pleased with the result!
Check out these before and after shots. His shoes look brand new again!
I am also in love with The Laundress Wash & Stain bar and how cute is that name?! I really like the scent and lather (just like a bar of soap) and the way it worked on my husband's shirts. I used it to scrub the collars and cuffs and was very happy with how clean they came out. I hate to sound like a cleaning geek but I found it really relaxing and fun using the Wash & Stain Bar!

Purex Complete Crystals Softener | Giveaway {closed}
Winner is #26 s8r8l33
I recently became a Purex Insider and was very excited to receive a nifty little welcome package. Purex has come out with a revolutionary new way to soften your garments with the brand new Purex Complete Crystals Softener. This is not your regular fabric softener, it is in a crystal form. The first thing you notice when you open the bottle is the burst of scent! I think I was a little nervous at first about it being over-scented. I decided to give it a whirl and try it out to see what it would be like. The thing that made this softener different from any brand I have tried is that you put it directly into your washer at the beginning of the wash cycle. I was skeptical about the crystals dissolving completely but they did with no problem. The true test was once my garments went through the dry cycle. They came out fresh, soft and lightly scented (far from the initial strong scent I noticed). I really love the fact that you add it in with the wash since you don't have to worry about it later in the wash or even about adding a dryer sheet. Also you will not have the risk of staining from liquid type fabric softeners.
WHY IT’S DIFFERENT ~
Purex Complete Crystals Softeners are safe for
all laundry and will not harm, wear down or discolor your fabrics like oil-based softeners.
Safe for all fabrics, including baby clothes, athletic wear, towels, and whites. Unlike other
softeners, Crystals WILL:
• Preserve the flame retardant benefits of your children’s clothes
• Retain your athletic wear’s wicking ability which draws sweat away from your body
• Maintain your towels’ built-in ability to absorb water
• Keep your white clothing from yellowing and graying vs. using traditional softeners
The product won’t harm your clothes and is safe and convenient for the entire family!

Tide with Acti-lift
I am such a laundry detergent snob. I truly love Tide. Tide now has Acti-Lift which helps to soften up tough stains that can be hard to get out. I find this very helpful with William and Dwayne's clothing since they make the most mess! I recently started using the scents with a touch of Febreze and the whole family loves the way everything smells. I wanted to share with you that the P&G brand site has $1 off coupons off almost all the Tide products. I know a lot of you love online shopping. Some of the items will even give you a bonus product at checkout. Just thought I would share since I did not realize you can purchase Tide online. Oh yeah and they take PayPal! :)
The recession has hit my house
If you know me well enough then you know that I can't stand when people blame the recession for everything that has gone wrong in their life. I have dealt with the rising prices of food, gas and well EVERYTHING else in the best way I can. I use coupons, shop sales, cut back on non-essentials and even re-purpose some items. Now I am totally offended that when I do laundry (usually 4 loads at a time, twice a week) that I can't find even a nickel! Man, back about 2 years ago I always got a minimum of $5 and sometimes $10. It was nice little lunch money or pocket change. Now I feel cheated. I get empty gum wrappers and lint. Like I said, the recession has hit my house, not cool :(
Denial and pure randomness
Do you ever have so much housework to do that you feel like you are in complete denial about it? I have put all of this on myself by rearranging too many rooms at one time. I am also spring cleaning so I keep finding all kinds of crap everywhere. I did discover a huge box of summer clothes for William that I did not know we had. I am so happy about that since I thought I was going to have to buy everything. I love hand-me-downs! It is so humid out and the weather report claims we will get rain. I am sort of hoping it pours and gets it all over with already. My laundry is mountainous since I found all these clothes that were hidden. I can't have my boy wearing dusty clothes. I am writing this post because I am taking a break. Now off to sign onto Facebook to play a few rounds of Bejeweled Blitz ;) I hope you all are having a great weekend.
What makes me want to clean
If you know me personally or check out my status updates on Facebook you might have learned that I clean a lot. Of course my house still looks pretty much destroyed most of the time thanks to my sweet little Hurricane Willie. Some days are harder than others to get household tasks complete. One great way to get me in the mood to clean is new cleaning products. I can't explain the joy I get from that. I know, I'm insane. Just the right scent can totally get me going and I love trying new products as well. Over the course of the morning I have cleaned 2 bathrooms out of 3, swept floors and mopped, cleaned my office, folded and packed away laundry, cleaned the kitchen and have my dinner fully prepped for this evening. It all started with a new bottle of bathroom cleaner and spiraled out of control! At least I can be lazy for the rest of the day :)

Happy Monday!
I'm not sure what it is but so many people hate Monday. Not me, I LOVE them. I tend to work harder on the weekends so I welcome Monday so I can sort of finish up a few things and get geared up for the rest of the week. I think when people start their day off complaining how much they hate Mondays it sets a negative tone for that entire day and sometimes for the rest of the week. I sure wish everyone a great start to the week and a Happy Monday!
Get rid of your washing machine funk! (Giveaway)

Winner #72 Sue E. Thanks to all for participating!
My awesome friends at Tide contacted me to try out their new product called Tide Washing Machine Cleaner. Being the big fan of the family of Tide products I was very optimistic. I have a dinosaur washing machine and was afraid that a new product like this would not work for me. Luckily I was wrong! It can be used in all washers. This product was formulated to help clean built-up residue that can re-attach to your clothes. The cleaner comes in a powder form and for me all I had to do was add it straight into my washer (without clothing) and run a normal cycle using hot water. The first thing I noticed was the scent. It is one of those "slap you in the face" kind of fresh scents. I love strong scents when it comes to cleaning products so this was a plus for me. A soon as my washer started to agitate I could smell the freshness traveling up to the top floor of my home. Seriously, my machine smells so good and there is no sign of the funk left over. It is suggested to initially use 1 packet once per week for three weeks and then once per month for maintenance. I will stick a note in my washroom to remind me to clean the washer on a schedule.
**For those of you with HE machines I found out that washing machine odor is actually a common problem with HE washing machines. Since these machines use less water, odor causing residues can build up in unseen places like the back of the drum, hose or drain.

We can't believe that we are celebrating 500 posts here at Momfiles! 500 posts?? Wow, we are really loved! Thanks for all your support, friendship and comments over the past few years. We have made some great connections along the way and value our readers.
We wanted to do something fun so our friends at Tide® decided to help us out. They sent us what I call a 'mom's dream', a full year's supply of Tide® Coldwater! How amazing is that?? In days of a weak economy everyone is cutting back where they can. One great way is to do laundry in cold water. Most people would think there is no way you can get clean clothes in cold water. You would be amazed how well this product works! My daughters use it especially when they do a load of denim since they don't want their jeans to fade. They even hang them out to dry saving even more energy! In fact, you can save up to $10 on energy by washing in cold water with 100 oz. bottle of Tide® Coldwater. Go here and click on the "info" tab to see how the product works. I always check for Tide® Coldwater on sale and stock up when I do! Y'all know Dwayne is loving the fact that we are saving him money :)

No people, I'm not talking about Dwayne's cologne LOL! It was pure charm that got me...that's another post...
What I am talking about is my favorite laundry detergent, Gain. For those of you that use it, you know exactly what I'm talking about!! If you have not tried Gain yet then you are truly missing out on having the freshest scented laundry. I started using Gain when a friend of mine gave me a bag of clothing for little William. I was totally taken by the way it smelled. Honestly, I found myself sniffing it over and over again! I think it was what I was missing from my previous detergent, long lasting freshness. There is nothing like opening my linen closet and having that sweet smell all over my towels.
My kids and hubby even get compliments on how good their sweater or shirt smells! We want you to experience the freshness for yourself! Momfiles is giving 3 lucky readers a chance to win a coupon good for one 100 ounce size or smaller bottle of Gain.
