Unusual gift idea

Look at this cute Melamine plate (without the cookies :D) I received to review from Expressionery. They just launched these new plates today and they are available for $25 retail and are personalizable, from a single initial to a name or phrase depending on what design you choose. I think these plates are a great and unique gift idea especially for the person who "has it all". I wish these were available for my daughter when she turned 16. It would have been a neat way for her to have a sweet sixteen keepsake. These melamine plates are dishwasher safe (not microwavable) and will last for a very long time. I like the idea of giving this as a hostess gift with the recipient's initials or for bridal/baby showers, birthdays and more.

I totally have my eye on this giraffe design plate. How cute is that? There are so many others to choose from. I think my mother-in-law would love one of these from the grand kids for Christmas. Knowing her she would never want to use it, just display it.

Does this happen to you?

You know how it is said that the average person loses over 100 strands of hair each day? Well I think it is true in my case. How in the world do I shed like I do yet still have a full head of thick, healthy hair? I don't get it. Also is it just me or do you get all sneezy and sick feeling when you are in a room of sick people? Do you take on symptoms even if you are not really sick? I must be paranoid or something! I was in the same space as someone who was coughing and I really felt a cough coming on. Now today of course I am perfectly fine :) Crazy me....

Halo SleepSack Swaddle Giveaway

**Contest Closed**
Winner is #17 Shelly- Congratulations!

I received this sweet little 2-in-1 wearable blanket/swaddle blanket from a mom blog gift that came to me in the mail. I don't have a little newborn to use it on so I decided it would be great to give it away to someone who can use it. It's cream in color and is made of a fleece material in newborn size. It's perfect for the cooler weather that is coming (if it has not already gotten to your neck of the woods). I loved using a swaddle blanket with William when he was teeny tiny.

Wordless Wednesday

I can't ever do a WW without a brief description. I took this last week from my car at the stop light. I wish it was better quality. The sky that day was like something out of a movie. Beautifully scary :)

Things that make Shelly... Shelly

  • I LOVE being a housewife and stay-at-home mom. It's my dream job although the pay sucks ;) Love it.
  • Promptness makes me very happy. Lateness troubles me greatly.

  • I love coupon shopping. I can't pass up a great deal!
  • I would love to lose 2 pounds.
  • I can't control my laughter when I need to the most. It has gotten really bad.
  • I love watching television with the husband but do not like when he has the remote (he's a compulsive channel flipper)
  • I have multiple junky corners in my home. My husband can tell you all about them.

  • Cold weather puts me in a great mood.
  • I don't feel my age at all.
  • I love foot and neck massages.
  • I don't like wearing socks even though I love crazy socks.
  • I don't ever write "LOL". It is grossly overused.

  • I have been watching One Life to Live and General Hospital for over 30 years.
  • I am writing this post to avoid cleaning my desk! haha :)
