Get Great Deals on Black Friday at Target

Can you believe that next week will be November already? Despite the craziness of this year as a whole, it still seems like time has raced by so quickly. My kids mentioned last week that we have to start pulling our winter holiday decor out of storage soon, and I got excited and nervous at the same time. I am so ready, yet not even remotely ready at the same time.

One thing that I am looking forward to is Black Friday shopping. This is definitely the best time to get the greatest deals of the year. I plan my gift-giving list according to sales, coupons, and promo codes as much as possible. This year is obviously a whole lot different when it comes to shopping in store, but it doesn't mean you can't pull it off with some planning and extra safety measures lined up.

This year we plan to hit up those Target Black Friday Deals, especially for their tech deals. Since most of us are still pretty much at home all day, electronics and leisure wear is where it's at! My son has become quite the gamer, so I hope to get a crazy good deal on gaming headphones. I might even go ahead an make purchases for his birthday next year and hide them away. He will be turning 13, so gifts will start costing a whole lot more!

Since Black Friday 2020 is unlike the previous years, you have to plan your outing carefully. Make sure you bring your mask and hand sanitizer above everything else! I also highly suggest a small cooler to keep in your car for bottled water or juice. Snacks are a must if you start to run low on energy. If you are one to overheat easily like I do, be sure to dress in layers. You do not want to feel faint in a store! For added safety, it's best to shop in pairs, so grab a shopping buddy and make it a fun outing. Oh, and don't forget to double-check those promo codes and coupons, especially from Slickdeals.

Of course, there is also online shopping for those who prefer the privacy and quiet with solo shopping. No matter which way you choose to shop, this is the best time of year to score the lowest prices on toys, electronics, and more. I am hoping to find some small kitchen appliances for myself this year. Now I'm getting excited about my Target shopping trip!

So what's on your holiday wish list? Are you planning on venturing out on Black Friday?

Away From The Screen – Toys Your Son Will Love

We all know that tech plays an important role in our lives. For some, our entire working lives are based around it. It makes life a little easier and helps us to connect and reconnect with friends and family. Technology is great for our kids too, from lessons in coding to how to design and create a video game or even edit a video, becoming immersed in technology can help our children find future roles and careers that they’re truly passionate about.

However, as wonderful as technology is, it can sometimes take over. With many parents struggling to coax their children outside for some fresh air, or simply entertain themselves without the help of a screen. So, if your child has a birthday coming up or you just want to spoil them, maybe you should embrace fun and entertainment away from the screen and consider the following gifts and toys for 9 year old boys.

Board and card games

Not just for rainy days, board games can be played with family and friends when they come to visit. You’ll find traditional games like Monopoly have been adapted to complement their favorite TV shows, and games like Top Trumps are always harmlessly competitive between good friends.

Pranks and jokes

Do you have a budding comedian at home? Or someone who likes to play pranks on their older siblings? Prank and joke kits have always been popular and they're a great way to get your child thinking outside the box and creating plans and schemes to pull off the perfect prank! Whoopee cushions stink bombs, hand buzzers, and slime will keep your son busy for hours!

Sports

If your son is football mad, then some simple football equipment for the garden is the ideal gift. A goal where they can practice their penalties, some new football kit, training cones or even a bag to put their boots and kit in. If you're struggling for outdoor space, then consider a smaller trick ball that they can use indoors to practice some cool tricks and skills.

Bikes

When we were kids, there was nothing better than getting on your bike and heading out. As long as you were back home in time for dinner of course! If your son doesn't have a bike, or they need a new one, then it could be the best gift ever. They can take themselves to and from school, practice cool tricks, go out riding with their friends and just enjoy a little freedom. Remember to get them the additional safety gear too!

Books

If your son much prefers reading and learning new things then topping up their bookshelf with some new reads is ideal. The latest novels from their favorite authors, encyclopedias, annuals, or other books dedicated to their favorite subject. It'll certainly keep them away from their screens for a while.

And finally, LEGOs!

LEGO or simple building bricks have been loved for generations. When your son plays with LEGOs he’s using his creativity and cognitive skills to figure out what should go where and how to bring his ideas to life. This is a classic favorite that you surely cannot go wrong with.

For years we have used Gourmet Gift Baskets to send our beloved friends and family delicious treats and snacks as gifts for different occasions. Seriously, I think food gifts are the best thing to receive. Once you know what types of snacks the recipient likes, it's a breeze to pick out the perfect gift.

Most dads would agree that meat and cheese are their favorite food groups. The Gourmet Meat & Cheese Sampler Deluxe is definitely a winner. It comes with 2 types of Summer sausage, 4 different cheeses, 2 boxes of crackers/flatbread, and a jar of sun-dried tomatoes. This makes a perfect evening snack to have while Dad catches up on his favorite TV series on Netflix.

The Summer sausage paired with any of the cheeses on top of a cracker is SO good! This is a gift that Dad might not be willing to share.

Another fantastic gift is for beer lovers. The Beer Expert Trio is sure to put a smile on Dad's face. It comes packed neatly complete with 3 large cans of beer, and tasty snacks that pair wonderfully. You can tell by the way each gourmet gift basket is packaged that it is done with care. Each package comes with its own card that is attached inside the outer shipping label. This makes gifting even easier since you don't have to worry about sending a card.

Again, crackers topped with Summer sausage and cheese is the ultimate dad snack. It's even better with a cold beer to wash it down. Father's Day weekend is going to be great!

Surprise Someone with a Gift That Says You Care

Some people only know how to give, and they give without ever asking for anything in return.. During these challenging times, so many of our friends and family are still heading out each day for work. Many parents around the world are pulling round-the-clock shifts to make homes happy and comfortable places to live in. While many celebrations can be put on hold, the Coronavirus pandemic isn't a reason strong enough to not celebrate the people you love. You don’t even need an occasion for that!  A word of caution though, if you are planning to order a gift online, do not wait to do last-minute purchasing -- even the biggest retailers and stores cannot guarantee delivery in these uncertain times.

To help you, we have compiled this list of a few thoughtful gift ideas for parents, friends, neighbors or co-workers.

A Customized Gift Basket

Gift baskets make excellent gifts. Baskets contain several different items and thus, your mother or best friend is bound to like at least a few of them. Toiletries, such as shampoos and lotions, scented candles, coffee, wine, chocolates, cookies, cakes, and other edible items are popular choices for gift baskets. Many online stores even allow buyers to customize their baskets and add items that they think the recipient will like or enjoy best. If you can find an online store that allows customization, nothing's better.

Tickets to a Show or Event

Imagine the joy on their face when the unexpected becomes a reality – surprising someone with tickets to a show or exhibit is an art of its own. It's more than just a piece of paper; it's an invitation to a world of captivating performances to see an artist like Morgan Wallen, for example, or breath taking displays. The anticipation builds with every passing moment until that exhilarating day arrives, and they step into a realm of entertainment or culture they might never have experienced otherwise. In a world filled with digital communication, gifting someone an immersive and tangible experience like this not only creates unforgettable memories but also strengthens the bond between you. So, why not add a touch of excitement to life by gifting the magic of live entertainment?

Terrarium Candles

If the gift recipient loves plants and little things that beautify a home, a terrarium candle is a perfect gift for them. Terrarium candles are sweet-scented candles with a succulent sitting inside them. These candles come in different scents and feature a wide variety of plants. More importantly, if you do not want to order from outside, you can always make a terrarium candle at home if you're crafty.

Fitness Tracker

Wearable fitness trackers have become quite a rage. Once clipped on a person's wrist, they provide accurate information about the steps taken in a day, calorie intake, resting heart rate, sleep time, weight loss, etc. Some of the fitness trackers can even be connected to a phone, allowing users to respond to messages while working. Whether your loved one is a fitness enthusiast or not, a fitness tracker will certainly teach them to take better care of themselves. More importantly, fitness trackers are available in all budgets. There certainly is one that suits your budget and requirements, you just have to do some research.

Jewelry

It's hard to find a woman who does not love jewelry. Irrespective of however many bracelets and necklaces they have, there will always be another one that they would want to add to their collection. Surprise your loved one with a jewelry piece they have long coveted. If you do not know what's on their list, surprise them with a personalized bracelet or pendant with their name on it.

Beauty Subscription Box For Moms

All that work around the house can leave a woman's skin feeling dull and dry. It is no surprise that women enjoy looking pretty. However, they easily let go of her wishes and desires to make sure her family is giving the best of everything. A beauty subscription box could be your way of telling your mother you care about her desires as much as she cares about your needs. With a beauty box, she will be able to try all the new and good makeup products in the market and purchase the ones that suit her skin the best.

Photo Collage For Parents

At the heart of everything a parent does is at the thought of their children. A parent's love is selfless and thus, many value things that appeal to their emotional side more than things that appeal to their materialistic side. If your parent is the kind who holds onto happy memories for good and bad days, a photo collage would make the perfect gift for them. It will also give you the chance to go back into the memory lane and pick out the most beautiful memories from your past. Any parent would treasure this gift.

Flowers

If you have run out of ideas and are clueless about what to gift someone, know that you can never go wrong with flowers. Add a gift card and a heartfelt message to it and the recipient will surely love the gift. Just make sure to tell them things that you feel but never say.

Conclusion
We often take those who love us the most for granted -- let this not be the case for those closest to us. During these challenging times, do not forget to show your love and appreciation through a gift that says you care. We hope this list will help you find the right gift for the people who mean so much to you.

What to Give Your Children for Christmas

It is not surprising that children get really excited about the prospect of waking up to find a load of presents neatly arranged under the Christmas tree and the big question you need to find the answer to is what gift items will you be wrapping for your children?

Your child’s tastes and preferences will often change from one year to the next and choosing gifts for 12-year-old boys, for example, will most likely prove to a different buying experience compared to buying for a girl of the same age.

There are also some other Christmas gift options to consider that won’t break the bank, so here are some suggestions to help you decide.
Photo by Mel Poole on Unsplash
Go for quality over quantity

It is worth remembering that kids can almost get overloaded with presents these days as they seem to get so many gifts compared to some previous generations.

You might find yourself struggling to find what could be classed as the perfect gift for your child and that could lead you to overspend and buy too many presents in your quest to get them exactly what they want.

Some parents like to follow a formula known as the 4 gift rule to help ensure that they buy certain items that fall into a category rather than randomly buying an assortment of things you think they will like.

The 4 gift rule is simple to follow and involves buying something they want, something they need, an item to wear, and something to read.

It’s not all about money

You don’t have to spend fortunes on your kids to give them some nice Christmas gifts they will love and taking this route with some or all of your gift options will help teach your kids some valuable lessons at the same time.

If it is cold where you are you could maybe hire some ice skates or get a used pair from a thrift shop and give them the gift of spending some time skating with them and just hanging out together.

The gift of time shouldn’t be underestimated and those magical memories created when you do something fun together are priceless.

Be guided by their age

When you do want to put some presents under the tree it can be a real challenge to find a gift that is appropriate for their age and stage of development.

Teenagers are notoriously difficult to buy for and that is why the default option often tends to be a gift card, which is a bit boring and unimaginative.

A practical gift for a teen could be an external power station external battery, for example, as many kids of this age seem to manage to drain the battery in their smartphone at an alarming speed.

Another age example would be a ten-year-old child, who is often somewhere in between being a kid who still loves playing with toys and becoming a tween with more of a focus on more grown-up gifts.

Think about what gift would be appropriate for their age and then consider if that is where they are at with their development so you can adjust your choice of potential Christmas gifts accordingly.

Start planning for Christmas as early as possible and it should give you enough time to work out what the perfect gift would be for your child.

Birthday Gift Ideas For Kids 10 And Under That Aren't Toys

Struggling with birthday gift ideas for kids under 10? We’ve got you covered!

You’d think with having the whole world at our fingertips that finding the perfect birthday gift for our little ones would be a piece of cake. With so many user-friendly apps and online stores with an abundance of toys and gifts to choose from, it’s almost as if you don’t have to put any thought into your shopping at all.

But isn’t that the problem? For consumers, everything is always well within reach or suggested to us via clever marketing. But what about a gift that really means something? A gift that won’t end up at the bottom of the toy box with all the other plastic toys that they own but don’t even play with…? Well, here you’ll find 5 of the most popular gifts for children under 10 years old and none of them are toys.

An Investment In Their Future

Sure, your kids can’t play with a savings accounts – not until they’re older anyway – but investing in their futures and putting something away for them to utilize when they’re older is a wonderful commitment and gesture of love. Check out Golden Eagle Coin for investment pieces as well as somewhere to buy silver bars, gold coins and other items, you can also get the latest information on items that will increase in value over time. Alternatively, speak to your local bank about an IRA or a savings account.

Lessons

Do you have a budding Picasso at home? Or even a mini Serena Williams? If your child has a passion or a hobby, why not help them take it a step further with some lessons in their favorite interest? Not only will it give them more confidence, but it could even take them down a career path when they’re older. In addition, joining things like dance schools, theatre groups or sports teams allows them to experience things like competitions or exhibitions, the value of teamwork, or focusing on tapping into their own creativity. It’s character-building, to say the least.

A Dress-up Box

All children enjoy dressing up as their favorite princess or superhero, but what about something more realistic? Simply go through your wardrobe at home and see if you have any items you can donate. Hats, scarves, trousers, shoes, bags, costume jewelry, dresses, gloves, etc. Or visit your local thrift shop and see what you can find. Let their imagination run wild!

A Charitable Donation

The gift of giving is a wonderful thing, especially to those less fortunate than ourselves. So, incorporating a donation as a gift will teach your children about charity, kindness and it will make them feel good. This could be sponsoring a child in a foreign country, helping to plant more trees, sponsoring an endangered animal or even adopting an animal at a local rescue center.

Time

They say the greatest gift you can give any child is your time. So, take a weekend and dedicate it to some quality time. Let your child decide where they want to go, what they want to do, and make sure you take plenty of photographs to document that time spent together. You can have a photo book made so your child can look back on those fun memories.

Do you have any other gift ideas to add to this list?
